Yes. Several handicap-accessible parking spaces are located immediately in front of the building.
The entrance has push-button doors. Upon entering, an elevator is available just beyond the admissions desk.
Restrooms are wheelchair-friendly, as are all exhibits, with the exception of the Confusion Illusion Room. Wheelchairs are available at Science Central on a first-come, first-served basis.
Yes. We have an elevator available on every floor, including the ground floor. There are no steps to get to any elevator entrance.
Science Central allows trained Service Dogs (SDs) that are used to help mitigate a person’s disability. The animal must be well behaved, make no noise, and be potty trained. Emotional Support Animals (ESAs) are allowed on a case-by-case basis if the animal meets the above criteria. Any animals that is dangerous or unnecessarily distracting to other guests will be asked to leave.
No, we do not have a permanent quiet sensory room available. However, if you notify us of your need, we will attempt to assist by providing an appropriate space. Fill out our Contact Us Form and select “Accessibility Request” in the dropdown. Be aware the availability of this area is limited by operational and programing needs and may not be available at the time of your visit.

Facilities FAQ
Vending machines are located in the Lower Level eating area, and tables are available on a first-come, first-served basis. You may bring your own food and beverages into the eating area, but do not take food or beverages out onto the exhibit floor.
A variety of family-friendly restaurants are located within a short drive from Science Central. If you would like to leave during your visit to go get food, stop by Admissions first for a return pass.
Lawton Park is also located within walking distance, immediately adjacent to Science Central, and offers additional picnic areas, as well as a playground.
Yes, secure, lockable lockers are available for .50 cents per day. Lost locker keys will incur a replacement fee of $11.
Science Central also offers free coat racks and shelves to store lunches or coolers. Science Central does not assume responsibility for the security of unattended items.

- Diaper changing stations are available in all restrooms.
- Nursing nooks are available in the Lower Level women’s restroom and in Kids Central.
- To prevent little ones from getting too wet using the Kids Central water table, we offer water-repellent smocks, which are available next to the table. We also have free loaner clothing available and a clothes dryer. Note that clothing sizes are limited.
