Science Central recognizes that our Mission to be a regional resource that provides inspiring and fun hands-on science education for all people of all ages is as important as your health and safety.

As we begin making plans, with the goal of being able to reopen soon, Science Central is committed to providing a safe and healthy environment for staff and our visitors, even as we navigate through this challenging time.

Upon reopening we would hope that your families and friends see us as a safe and engaging venue of informal science education. Let’s all use the best defense we have, knowledge. Let’s remember that the COVID-19 virus is still with us and just as concerning as before the state put into place a measured return to a ‘new’ normal. Join with us in fighting this international crisis.

We encourage our community to be aware of your behavior, be safe in your interactions and know what your choices are before engaging. Practice social distancing by putting space between yourself and others. Continue to practice healthy habits to help slow the spread of COVID-19.

UPDATE 5/18/2020:  Onsite Summer STEM Camps from June 8th through June 28th have been canceled, but we are offering new activities. These will include science kits you can do at home as well as live interaction with Science Central educators. If you are registered for any of these programs you will be contacted soon!

Don't spend Spring Break all wound up on the couch - spend it having hands-on fun at Science Central! Choose from camp favorites or some of our new and exciting topics. Pick a couple days or come for the whole week! 

Popular programs fill up fast, so register early!

Special Notes:

  • Walk-ins will not be permitted on the day of the event.
  • Campers supply their own lunch.
  • Registration deadline is 10 a.m. one week BEFORE each camp.

Time:  Check-in: 8:30 - 9 a.m.; Program: 9 a.m. - 4 p.m.

 Boy1Prepare to get your hands dirty with some messy science. Join Science Central as we make slime, observe the interesting properties of oobleck and make your own bouncy ball. Learn about the states of matter as we learn about the sticky, slimy and the gooey.

March 31 - Interstellar

Take a trip across the stars with Science Central. Join us as we explore the planets in our solar system, create impact craters and design our own aliens! Become an astronaut as we learn about what it takes to live on Mars and make your own astronaut pudding. 



Festival of FoolsApril 1 - Tricky Science 

Join Science Central on April Fools Day as we learn about some science that could be mistaken for magic. Learn about illusions and science that will amaze your friends.



April 2 Girl4 - Ocean Masters 

Dive into spring as Science Central explores the oceans. Learn about dolphins and sharks as we explore the similarities and differences. Become an oceanographer and get to know a variety of marine animals.


April 3 - Jurassic Science dinosaursresized

Join Science Central as we take a trip back through time. Learn about dinosaurs as we make dinosaur foot prints, dinosaur eggs, and even get to examine real fossils. Make your own erupting volcano and learn about what caused their extinction…could some of them have survived?
