NEWSFLASH

coronavirus dark 1200x800Coronavirus Disease (COVID-19)

Science Central recognizes that our Mission to be a regional resource that provides inspiring and fun hands-on science education for all people of all ages is as important as your health and safety.

As we begin making plans, with the goal of being able to reopen soon, Science Central is committed to providing a safe and healthy environment for staff and our visitors, even as we navigate through this challenging time.

Upon reopening we would hope that your families and friends see us as a safe and engaging venue of informal science education. Let’s all use the best defense we have, knowledge. Let’s remember that the COVID-19 virus is still with us and just as concerning as before the state put into place a measured return to a ‘new’ normal. Join with us in fighting this international crisis.

We encourage our community to be aware of your behavior, be safe in your interactions and know what your choices are before engaging. Practice social distancing by putting space between yourself and others. Continue to practice healthy habits to help slow the spread of COVID-19.

Program Policy

Registration Deadline

You must purchase online at least 14 days prior to the date of a scheduled program. Availability is on a first come, first served basis, and some dates may not be available at Science Central's discretion. Email confirmations are sent after purchasing a package.

Alternative Registration Method

While we prefer online purchases, you may also schedule an appointment to meet with the Registrar at 260-424-2400 ext. 451 to purchase a Scout Party Package. Scout Parties can not be scheduled over the phone. Note: Online purchasers will receive preferrential treatment over in-person purchasers.

Changes in Package & Cancellations

The deadline to make changes to your package size, activity, or theme is 14 days prior to the event. No additions, subtractions or refunds can be made after that date. A full refund will be issued if the party is cancelled at least 14 days prior to the event.  To make changes or cancel your party, contact the Registrar at 260-424-2400 ext. 451. For programming questions, contact the Special Programs Manager at 260-424-2400 ext. 427.

Additional Unexpected Guests

If there is room, Science Central will attempt to accommodate additional unexpected guests on the day of a Scout Party. Full, regular price admission for these guests will need to be covered by either the guest or by the person who booked the party. The unexpected guests will not receive food or drinks. Please note that we will do our best to accommodate unexpected children by allowing them to participate with activities although this may not always be possible.

Day of Party Procedure

Party guests will need to check in at Admissions. They will receive a wristband to identify your guests to Science Central's staff. Depending on the party size, this could take several minutes if all the guests arrive at once. We recommend arriving early to check in. Parties are exactly one hour in length, so if you do not arrive early and your party starts late, we cannot reschedule or extend your time in the party room.

Special Dietary Needs

Science Central is not able to accommodate food allergies or special dietary needs. If you have concerns about the potential for complications during an event, please plan to accommodate your own needs.

Science Central Members

Science Central Deluxe Members get a discount on Scout Party Packages.

Photo Policy

Science Central and the media frequently take photos/videos of visitors which may be used for future Science Central promotions or publicity. These photos may be used without your consent and without compensation. If you do not want your image used, please avoid photographers and inform them of your desire. As a visitor, you are welcome to take photos for non-commercial use at Science Central.
