This staff-guided program makes an excellent day time activity for an entire grade, school or group. You provide the tables, volunteers, participants, and any large space (a gym or cafeteria work best), then Science Central will provide the rest! The exploration includes stations with fun educational hands-on tabletop activities. In a structured format, groups of no more than 80 students rotate through the stations per hour. Call for more details and specific pricing.
*Large Space is required for the successful running of this event.

Get the inside story at this Exploration Station. Students will explore the human body by discovering how their eyes and ears work, using their skin to detect different objects from the world around them, and using their nose to detect smells from smelly slime.
Science Standards: Covers: 1.PS.3, 3.PS.3, 3.LS.3, 5.LS.3 Touches On: K.PS.1, K.LS.3, 1.LS.2, 3.PS.4, 4.LS.3
Space Quest (formerly Engineering In Space)
Take a trip through the solar system and see how “central” our sun is! Observe the orbits of our earth, and the moon, and how that moon’s orbit causes its phases. Learn about which planets orbit the sun, and order them correctly to take home. It will be an out-of-this-world experience.
Discussed Standards: K.PS.3, K.ESS.2, 1.ESS.1, 4.ESS.1, 5.ESS.1, 6.ESS.1, 6.ESS.2, 6.ESS.3, SEPS.1, SEPS.2, SEPS.3, SEPS.4
What do you get when you cross science AND math? Fun...go figure! Blow giant table bubbles that you can measure. Make an endless circle with just 6 inches of paper. Try your hand at the estimation table; give it your best guess.
Science In Motion
Have a great time creating motion with chemistry and physics. Blow up a balloon with the power of chemistry; balance a paper clown on one finger, or even your nose. Create two color polymers, and watch as the colors collide and combine. Levitate magnets, move cars mysteriously and manipulate magnetic motion.
You will “dig” this Exploration Station as you delve into geology. Students will have a chance to “be Earth” as they form different rocks! Students will create models of the main 3 rock types, and even have a chance to be detectives as they discover the difference between rocks and minerals. In this Exploration Station, science isn’t just cool. It rocks!
Science Standards: 3.ESS.3, 3.ESS.4, 7.ESS.1
Become a meteorologist and learn about the weather around us. Students will learn about clouds with an edible cloud model, severe weather and preparation for it with anemometer pinwheels, and how weather wears away land and mountains over time. In Indiana, the weather is wild!
Science Standards: Covers: K.ESS.3, 2.ESS.2, 2.ESS.3, 3.ESS.1, 4.ESS.3, Touches On: 2.ESS.1.
