At various times throughout the year, Science Central hosts different types of events such as presentations, screenings and festivals which are free with paid admission. Below are just a few of the many Public Programs that we offer.

Celebrate the New Year with Science Central during our annual Countdown to Noon! We will ring in 2018 with New Year’s activities and our annual balloon drop! Admission is $9 per person, ages 3 to adult. Children 2 and under are admitted free. Science Central's 18th annual event features children's activities such as face painting and making party hats and noisemakers, plus science demonstrations and a giant balloon drop featuring 2,018 balloons. Visitors will also be able to view city lights around the world on Science Central's "Science On a Sphere" exhibit. As the noon hour approaches, visitors will enjoy cookies and a soda pop toast and the assembled crowd will count down the seconds. At the stroke of noon, 2,018 balloons will cascade down from the ceiling.

Come celebrate the cold at Winterval! In conjunction with the Fort Wayne Parks & Recreation Department and the Downtown Improvement District, Science Central will offer liquid nitrogen ice cream and other science activities from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m.! Held on a Last Saturday, admission to Science Central is only $5 per person
