Science in the Summer is a free program developed by the Franklin Institute and funded by GlaxoSmithKline to teach kids in grades 2-6 about science. Since 2015, Science Central has brought hands-on science education to the Allen County community through this program.

This year's topic covers the Science of Space! Kids will explore how human beings understand the sky above in four, one-hour sessions:

  • Part 1: The Sun & Stars
  • Part 2: Earth's Moon
  • Part 3: Space Travel
  • Part 4: Liftoff!

  • Woodburn ACPL Branch (2 p.m. - 3 p.m.): June 4, June 11, June 18, and June 25
  • Shawnee ACPL Branch (1 p.m. - 3:15 p.m.): July 24 and July 25
  • Hessen Cassel ACPL Branch (1 p.m. - 2 p.m.): July 31, August 1, August 2, and August 3
